Fee assumptions
How What Profit models UK marketplace fees — reviewed 27 August 2026. Decision aid, not an invoice.
Each platform calculator uses one fee stack. Confirm live rates on the platform before you scale.
Current models
- eBay private: £0 FVF / order / regulatory on most non-motors domestic sales. Buyer protection is a separate buyer fee.
- eBay business: 11.9% clothes/general FVF on item + postage + £0.30/£0.40 order fee + 0.35% regulatory (excl. VAT; Feb 2026).
- Amazon FBM/FBA: ~15% referral (many categories; £0.25 min) + editable FBA fulfilment (default £4.50).
- Etsy: £0.16 listing + 6.5% transaction + 4% + £0.20 processing + 0.32% regulatory.
- Depop UK: £0 selling fee; 2.9% + £0.30 processing on item + shipping.
- Vinted private / Pro: £0 seller platform fee on standard fashion (buyer pays protection). Luxury authenticity categories can differ.
- Shopify Payments Basic: 2% + £0.25. Monthly plan not included.
- TikTok Shop UK: 9% platform commission (VAT-inclusive). Some categories 5%.
- Facebook Marketplace: local pickup £0 Meta fee; shipped checkout ~10% of buyer-paid total (min ~£0.80).
- Whatnot UK: 6.67% commission on item price + 2.42% + £0.25 processing on order total (VAT on fees when toggled).
